Plans revealed to include two new apartment buildings at 901 Navaho Drive: Veranda, a 207-unit project with 55-plus housing; and Merit, a seven-story building with 387 apartments and ground-floor retail.
In the main district of North Hills and beyond, retailers have been clamoring for space in the well-frequented area. The N&O reported that after Mattress Firm moved out another store, furniture store Design for Within Reach, was already set to take its place.
The area is not without its controversies, as Raleigh leaders freshly rezoned the area to allow for buildings to reach up to 37 stories high despite pushback from residents, The N&O reported in January.
