UNC Police investigated a bomb threat at the university’s football stadium for roughly four hours Thursday, according to the university.

Police got a 911 dispatch at 3:11 p.m. about a bomb threat involving Kenan Stadium, UNC Media Relations said in a statement. Police alerted and evacuated people inside the stadium “out of an abundance of caution.”

UNC Police and emergency responders searched the area and established safety protocols, determining that there was no credible threat. An Alert Carolina message gave an all clear at 7:16 p.m.

“Additional information will be shared as it becomes available,” UNC Media Relations wrote in a statement. “The safety of our campus community remains our highest priority.”
