Original Glazed blueberry flavored doughnuts arrive in bakery cases Thursday, July 23, at participating Krispy Kreme shops nationwide, according to the doughnut giant.
The limited-time treat will be available for purchase in-shop, the drive-thru and for pickup until Sunday, July 26, so doughnut fans will have to act fast.
A spin on Krispy Kreme’s classic glazed pastry, the new doughnut is made with a blueberry-flavored dough, then finished with a sweet glaze.
And the timing is fitting; July is National Blueberry Month. The USDA made the official proclamation in 1999, celebrating the peak of blueberry harvesting season.
“Nothing says summer quite like blueberries, and we’re bringing that peak-of-season flavor to our iconic Original Glazed doughnut,” Alison Holder, chief product and brand officer at Krispy Kreme, said in a news release.

Krispy Kreme has been leaning heavy into fruit-forward flavors recently. In June, it launched the Original Glazed Strawberry Cake Doughnut and Lemon Bar Doughnut as part of its summer menu, CharlotteFive reported.
Fan-favorites like the Key Lime Pie Doughnut and Cannoli-inspired Doughnut also returned to the seasonal lineup, along with two new frozen lemonades. Before that, the chain brought back its popular glazed lemon-filled doughnut for a limited time.
Pricing information for the Original Glazed blueberry glazed doughnut was not immediately available. Similar offerings like the classic Original Glazed doughnut cost $1.99 at the Krispy Kreme in South End as of July 21.
