Transito Ortiz-Escareno, 39, was arrested Sunday, nearly three months after a man was found dead along Buffaloe Road in Northeast Raleigh on June 13, according to Wake County jail records.

“Thereafter, at least one more car then ran over Mr. Arnold after he was down in the roadway,” police wrote in a press release at the time.
Police said Ortiz-Escareno didn’t stop to help Arnold after the crash. He is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing Sept. 8, records show.
