The first collision happened around 2:05 a.m. on South Miami Boulevard after Juan Jose Acevedo Archila, 18, got into a crash and got out of his car to look at the damages, according to a news release.
He was struck by a 2010 Nissan Sentra driven by Stephen Moore, 37, of Manson, the Durham Police Department said in the release. Moore told officers he tried to stop but his car kept sliding in the rain and hit Archila and his disabled car.
Archila was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Moore was charged with driving while impaired, driving with license revoked, failure to reduce speed, misdemeanor death by vehicle, exceeding safe speed and no liability insurance, according to the release.
At 12:43 pm, a woman was driving a 2020 Hyundai Palisade north on Knightwood Drive at the same time a boy was riding a bicycle in the middle of the road after turning from Bengel Drive to head south on Knightwood Drive, according to a second news release.

The driver and the juvenile collided head-on a short distance after the juvenile entered the roadway on Knightwood Drive, the release stated.
First responders tried to save the boy, according to the release, but he was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
As of Monday morning, no charges have been filed in that crash.
