Kelly Osbourne is sharing rare insight into her estranged relationship with sister Aimee Osbourne.

“We’re not close,” Kelly, 41, said on the Tuesday, September 15, episode of the “We Need to Talk” podcast.
Aimee, 43, famously opted out of appearing on the family’s reality show The Osbournes, which aired from 2002 to 2005. Kelly noted on Tuesday that she couldn’t “tell the whole truth” about the reason why because she didn’t “want to speak on behalf” of her sister.
“I believe there’s a reason for everything; it just wasn’t meant to be for her,” she continued. “It was always me and Jack [Osbourne]. If I’m honest, my older sister didn’t really ever acknowledge me and my brother. She was just in her own world doing her own thing.”
Kelly said she felt like Aimee was “embarrassed” of their entire family.
“I’ll never really, truly understand. It just felt that way,” she said. “We’re very different. Everything I am, she’s not. Everything she is, I’m not. You couldn’t be more polar opposite. We’re like oil and water.”
She continued, “I will tell you it’s one of the hardest things of my life, that I never got a big sister. And I had to learn how to do certain things that a big sister should have taught you on my own. And I do have a resentment there. I’ll have that forever.”

When asked whether there was any hope of reconciling with Aimee, Kelly gave a firm no.
“I respect her. I accept her,” she said. “But we’re different. And that’s OK. … If you’re not gonna accept me for who I am and constantly be trying to change me and say horrible things about me and truly seem to thrive when I’m not doing well, I don’t want you in my life.”
Sharon and Ozzy Obsourne‘s children are no strangers to the spotlight, but Aimee has attempted to maintain her privacy through the years. She made a rare public appearance at the 2026 Grammy Awards in February alongside Sharon, 73, and Jack, 40, for a tribute to the late rocker and also attended his funeral last year. (Ozzy died at 76 in July 2025 after battling Parkinson’s disease.)
Kelly, meanwhile, has been candid about grieving her family’s loss and the tolls of public life.
“Maybe when you look at other rock star daughters, like Liv Tyler, who is absolutely gorgeous. All these different musicians’ daughters who have ended up being models and … that wasn’t me,” she said on Tuesday. “But I didn’t want to be like that … I just wasn’t the same as everyone else.”
