A woman is in the hospital with serious injuries after a late-night shooting in southern Wake County, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunshots in the 3700 block of Westbury Lake Drive in Raleigh to find a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The area is off Lake Wheeler Road.

The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. The Sheriff’s Office said they are working to determine the circumstances they led to the shooting.

No suspects are in custody, the Sheriff’s Office said.
