Two people were killed Wednesday night in a crash that left four others hospitalized, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Charlotte resident\u2019s Miguel Angel Trujillo Valdivia, 41, and Vincente Silverio Rosales, 27, died at the scene of the wreck, Lancaster County Coroner<\/a> Karla Deese said Thursday.<\/p>\n

The two-vehicle collision happened at about 7:40 p.m. in Lancaster County<\/a>, said Master Trooper Hannah Davidson of the Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n

A 2001 Ford F-350 pickup truck was driving west on S.C. 5\/Rock Hill Highway, according to Davidson. At the intersection with S.C. 75 the pickup collided with a 2017 Audi that was driving south, Davidson said.<\/p>\n

The pickup flipped over as it went off the left side of the road, while the Audi ran off the right side of S.C. 5 and crashed into a guard rail, according to Davidson.<\/p>\n

There were four people in the pickup, and both the front and backseat passengers on the right side of the Ford died, Davidson said.<\/p>\n

The pickup driver and a passenger on the left side of the backseat were hurt and taken to an area hospital, according to Davidson. The driver and a passenger in the Audi were injured and taken to another hospital, Davidson said.<\/p>\n

Further information on the conditions of the surviving victims was not available.<\/p>\n

No other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

There was no word if anyone involved in the wreck was wearing a seatbelt, but the crash continues to be investigated by the Highway Patrol and coroner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Through Monday, 323 people had died on South Carolina roads in 2026<\/a>, according to the state Department of Public Safety<\/a>. A minimum of 914 people were killed in collisions in South Carolina in 2025, DPS data shows.<\/p>\n

At least eight people have died in Lancaster County crashes this year, and 16 people died in wrecks there in 2025, according to DPS data.<\/p>\n
