\u201cI think I am a really exciting player,\u201d Evans said at the Combine. \u201cThe fan base, wherever I go, they\u2019ll resonate with me pretty well. I think I bring a different type of energy on the court.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Duke\u2019s 80-79 ACC Tournament quarterfinal victory over Florida State<\/u><\/a>, Evans scored a career-high seven three-pointers in a 32-point effort. In the NCAA Tournament opening 71-65 win over No. 16-seeded Siena<\/u><\/a>, Evans recorded a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double.<\/p>\n

But in the Blue Devils\u2019 73-72 Elite Eight loss to UConn<\/u><\/a>, he scored just seven points after going 1-for-4 from long-range.<\/p>\n

Tuesday didn\u2019t go Evans\u2019 way, but after finally being taken Wednesday, he\u2019ll have a chance to prove teams wrong in the NBA.<\/p>\n

Evans\u2019 teammate the past two seasons, Duke forward Maliq Brown, went No. 44 to the San Antonio Spurs. The senior from Culpeper, Virginia averaged 4.9 points and 5.2 rebounds in 38 appearances in his final season with Duke. He was named ACC defensive player of the year this past season.<\/p>\n

Brown played his first two years of college basketball at Syracuse before helping Duke win back-to-back ACC championships.<\/p>\n
