Decker, a disgraced newspaper photographer and ex-con who starts over as a private investigator in the colorful-if-crime-filled world of South Florida,\u201d ABC wrote on its website before the show made its debut<\/a>. \u201cThe series follows him tackling cases that range from slightly odd to outright bizarre with the help of his journalist ex, her police detective wife and a shadowy new benefactor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robert Doherty \u2014 series creator, showrunner and executive producer \u2014 in a past email to The N&O said though the show is set in the Sunshine State, the North Carolina \u201cbeaches and coastal areas give us a similar look and feel. Between the geography and the excellent crews, Wilmington was an easy decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

It turns out, the first season was \u201cprimarily filmed here in NC,\u201d with much of the production concentrated in the New Hanover County region, Guy Gaster, director of the N.C. Film Office, told The N&O in March.<\/p>\n

Then in May, \u201cR.J. Decker\u201d in a Facebook post announced it would come back for a new season<\/a> but didn\u2019t share a premiere date.<\/p>\n

The N.C. Film Office and ABC didn\u2019t immediately respond to The N&O\u2019s requests for more information on Wednesday, July 8.<\/p>\n
