Schaffner was second on the team in batting average, on-base percentage and total bases, behind teammate Owen Hull. He was third in slugging. The 6-2 shortstop also led the Tar Heels with 85 runs scored.<\/p>\n

During the NCAA Tournament, Schaffner hit .700 when he had runners in scoring position.<\/p>\n

On defense, Schaffner committed just three errors on the season, none of which occurred during ACC or NCAA Tournament play.<\/p>\n

He has a long list of accolades, including Summit League Defensive Player of the Year, All-Summit League first team honors in 2024 and 2025, and All-ACC first team recognition this season.<\/p>\n
