From a shocking Will Trent<\/em> death to multiple cancellations, Scott Foley<\/strong><\/a> hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to TV roles.<\/p>\n

Foley is known for his appearance<\/a> on various TV shows, including his work on The Unit, Scrubs, Felicity<\/em> and Scandal<\/em>. He has also guest starred on Grey’s Anatomy, Dawson’s Creek<\/em> and House<\/em>, though his onscreen arcs have usually been cut short or ended tragically.<\/p>\n

After Foley joined Will Trent<\/em> in 2025<\/a>, there were concerns that his character, Seth, wouldn’t make it for the long haul. A May 2026 episode showed Angie (Erika Christensen<\/strong>) finally giving birth, but her happiness was short-lived as Seth, her husband, died after collapsing in the hospital.<\/p>\n

“What a wonderful gift to receive after a wonderful experience on #willtrent,” Foley wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of his name in the show’s title card. “Thanks to the cast and crew, the writers and creators who made the experience so special.”<\/p>\n

He added, “This will surely make my wife and daughter say \u2018Awww’ each time they pass by and really, that’s enough for me.”<\/p>\n

Months later, Foley broke his silence about his latest show’s cancellation. He took to Instagram in July 2026 to address Prime Video not renewing his faith-focused series, It’s Not Like That<\/em>,<\/a> for a second season.<\/p>\n

“After six or so weeks in Prime Video’s Top 10, I think getting as high as, like, three or four, really great reviews – I think we have like 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes – our little show called It’s Not Like That has been canceled at Amazon Prime,” he began in the video, admitting he was “disappointed” by the news.<\/p>\n

“But I’m so grateful for the chance. I get to make – I got to make a show I’m so proud of with people I grew to like a lot, and now we don’t get to make it anymore, and you don’t get to watch it,” he continued. “If you watched it, thank you. I appreciate it. If you didn’t, it’s still on Amazon Prime.”<\/p>\n

Foley added, “It’s not going to change the cancellation, but I wanted to thank everybody who took the time to check it out. Whether it was you found it on your own, whether it was a recommendation you saw on social media, it’s appreciated. So thank you.”<\/p>\n

While Foley’s character, Jake, survived on Scandal<\/em>, his ending was far from happy. Not only did he not get the girl, Jake took the fall for crimes that led to him imprisoned for life.<\/p>\n

Foley led the cast of The Big Leap when it ran for one season on Fox in 2021.<\/p>\n

After a two-season stint on Will Trent, Foley’s character, Seth, was killed off shortly after getting married and becoming a father.<\/p>\n

The faith-based series was canceled in 2026 after airing one season – despite finding success on Prime Video.<\/p>\n
