Bachelor in Paradise<\/em><\/a>‘s Joe Amabile<\/strong><\/a> is sharing a health update with his many fans.<\/p>\n

“So a little medical update. I didn’t share my Prenuvo results because they ended up finding a lesion in my brain so then I had to go get a brain MRI and there was a blueberry size lesion in my brain that looks to be a glioma, which is a tumor. So I now need to get brain surgery next week to get it removed and get it tested,” Amabile, 40, shared in a Monday, July 13, Instagram<\/a> video, adding in text over the clip, “(Surgery is in two weeks \u2026 my bad).”<\/p>\n

He continued, “And then we’re going to go from there. So it’s been a wild couple weeks. I definitely wasn’t expecting this. I think it’s one of those things where you’re like, \u2018Oh, something like this will never happen to me.’ And here I am.”<\/p>\n

Amabile explained that he is being told “it’s really early stages,” adding that he hopes “they are able to get it all” and promised to keep his followers updated.<\/p>\n

“This past month has been a lot of ups and downs to say the least. After multiple scans and MRIs I have what looks to be an early stage brain tumor. In two weeks I’ll be undergoing a craniotomy to have it removed – yeah brain surgery – @memorialsloankettering,” he captioned the clip. “I’m doing my best to stay positive during this time and am lucky to have a lot of support from family and friends \u2764\ufe0f.”<\/p>\n

He continued, “I’ve gone back and forth about what I wanted to share on social media but ultimately this is now part of my life now, so might as well. Onto a new journey.”<\/p>\n

Amabile received support from his former Dancing With the Stars<\/em> partner,<\/a>Jenna Johnson<\/strong>, and several Bachelor Nation alumni in the comments section.<\/p>\n

“Omg Joe! Sending you all the love and support \u2728\ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffc,” Johnson wrote, while Bachelorette’s Zac Clark<\/strong> added, “Love you bro. You are a great friend to me and many others. You are going to get through this and then help a lot of people. Keep going.”<\/p>\n

Jason Tartick<\/strong> also wrote<\/a>, “Sending prayers and love man.”<\/p>\n

Bachelor Nation met Amabile when he appeared as a contestant on Becca Kufrin<\/strong>‘s season 14 of The Bachelorette<\/em> in 2018. After being eliminated, he headed to season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise<\/em> and began dating Kendall Long<\/strong>. The pair went their separate ways in 2020 and Amabile returned the following year to Bachelor in Paradise<\/em> season 7, where he got engaged to Serena Pitt.<\/strong><\/a> The couple tied the knot in October 2022.<\/p>\n
