In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsobserver.com\/news\/politics-government\/state-politics\/article315728709.html\"><u>freshly approved budget<\/u><\/a>, one of these exemptions was removed, meaning data centers have to pay taxes on their electricity generating some state revenue. The remaining tax exemptions could collect millions for state usage.<\/p>\n<p>Masri challenges data centers\u2019 claim of local economic success. \u201cThe main jobs that AI data centers do bring are construction jobs, and typically those are workers that move with the data center.
