HBO Max is expanding The Big Bang Theory<\/em><\/a> universe with its Stuart Fails to Save the Universe<\/em> spinoff – but who makes up the cast?<\/p>\n

The Big Bang Theory<\/em>, which aired on CBS from 2007 to 2019, starred Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik <\/strong>and Melissa Rauch<\/strong>as a group of best friend scientists and their<\/a> – sometimes polar opposite – significant others.<\/p>\n

The Big Bang Theory<\/em>won 10 Emmy Awards<\/a> during its 12-season run and spawned the prequel series, Young Sheldo<\/em>n. The follow-up focused on Sheldon’s life (Iain Armitage<\/strong>) as a child prodigy growing up in Texas.<\/p>\n

In addition to serving as an executive producer, Parsons acted as the narrator across all seven seasons – at one point even making an onscreen appearance as adult Sheldon in the 2024 finale.<\/p>\n

Viewers met Sheldon’s brother, Georgie (Montana Jordan<\/strong>), which paved the way for his love story with Mandy (Emily Osment<\/strong>) to inspire another spinoff, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage<\/em>. Next up is Stuart Fails to Save the Universe<\/em>, headlined by Kevin Sussman, Brian Posehn<\/strong> and Lauren Lapkus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to the official synopsis, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe<\/em> follows<\/a> Stuart Bloom as he is faced with the daunting task of “restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon.”<\/p>\n

Stuart “is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise<\/a>, geologist friend Bert and quantum physicist\/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke. Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don’t go well.”<\/p>\n
