Canadian outlets, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecanadianpressnews.ca\/national\/carolina-hurricanes-anthem-singer-touched-by-praise-for-bilingual-o-canada\/article_ef5d1c25-fa15-5240-ac84-f5856b1215fe.html\" rel=\"Follow\" target=\"_blank\">The Canadian Press<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/montreal.citynews.ca\/2026\/05\/22\/mason-greer-bilingual-o-canada-habs-hurricanes\/\" rel=\"Follow\" target=\"_blank\">CityNews Montreal,<\/a> covered the widespread praise of Greer. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsobserver.com\/sports\/nhl\/carolina-hurricanes\/article315857668.html?_nt_openaccess&amp;utm_source=mcc&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=am_pm_ab&amp;cid=crm_around_am_pm_b_9\" rel=\"Follow\" target=\"_blank\">an interview Friday with The News &amp; Observer<\/a>, Greer joked that with all the attention he received for his performance he understood why people hire managers.<\/p>\n<p>But the Canes will instead have Adam Lee Decker sing both the Canadian and American national anthems for the rest of the series. Greer told The N&amp;O Saturday the Hurricanes emailed him around 11 a.m., and Greer announced the Hurricanes\u2019 decision in a post on X Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">With great sadness, I have been informed that the hurricanes will be sticking with one anthem singer for the remainder of this series. We are lucky to be able to showcase his talents regularly at Lenovo Center.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Greer said while the decision was \u201chard\u201d to take, he respected it and was thankful for the opportunities Carolina has given him.
