Cary police are investigating a drowning after first responders discovered a woman dead in a pond Monday afternoon.

Cary police, along with the Cary Fire Department and Wake County EMS, responded to the 8000 block of Piney Branch Drive just after 1:30 p.m. Monday for a report of an individual in the water.
They found the woman’s body in the water behind a home, police said.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and have not released the woman’s name or age or any other information.
