The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday, delivering to Raleigh the top title and trophy the NHL has to offer.
The team is flying back to Raleigh on Monday and are scheduled to land at Raleigh-Durham International Airport around 7 p.m.
A spokesperson for RDU told The News & Observer that while there is no official gathering for fans due to limited space, those who do come to the airport “must remain in public areas, such as paid parking lots.”

“Visitors are reminded not to gather along roadways and to keep traffic moving so airport operations are not blocked or disrupted,” according to RDU.
The spokesperson also said people traveling through RDU this evening should allow extra time for travel, and that there may be heavier traffic than usual.
“RDU is excited to welcome the Carolina Hurricanes back to the Triangle after their Stanley Cup victory last night,” the statement said. “We encourage Canes fans to celebrate with the team this Saturday at the Stanley Cup Championship Parade in downtown Raleigh.”
