Breeze will fly between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and the home of the Wright Brothers on Mondays and Fridays starting Nov. 6.
The new flights bring the number of nonstop destinations for Breeze from RDU to 41, including its first international flight from the Triangle to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, that started in March. The airline favors routes not served by other airlines, and with the addition of Dayton has 34 exclusives from RDU.
Breeze made its debut in the Triangle in February 2023 and has made RDU the busiest airport in its network. The airline carried more than 400,000 passengers in and out of RDU through May, more than double the number it served during the same period last year.

Breeze, which operates out of Terminal 1, established a crew base at the airport in March, with more than 200 pilots and flight crew. It now accounts for about 6.5% of passenger traffic at RDU, trailing only Delta, American, United, Southwest and Frontier.
Breeze executives say they’re able to serve so many smaller markets from RDU in part because the airline uses Airbus A220-300 aircraft that seat 137 passengers — a size that’s not too big or too small to operate profitably.
