“The store, which opened in June 2022, was originally expected to remain open through July 31 but closed earlier than planned as part of Nike’s broader national retail strategy,” the shopping center wrote in an emailed statement to The News & Observer on Thursday, July 16. “Fenton appreciates Nike’s partnership and remains committed to providing guests with a strong mix of retail, dining, entertainment, and community experiences.”
The permanent closure impacts the Nike store at 4 Fenton Main St., Suite 140. A Fenton spokesperson in an email said the shopping center “continues to have strong leasing interest in the space and will share updates as they become available.”

For now, fans of the athletic brand have another option in the Raleigh area. There’s a Nike Factory Store at Carolina Premium Outlets in Smithfield, according to the company’s website.
