There are four new teams in the Super 25 high school football rankings for the best teams in North Carolina.

The ranking is sponsored by The Charlotte Observer and the News & Observer of Raleigh. The media companies also sponsor a weekly class-by-class rankings of teams in each of the eight NCHSAA public school classifications and two private school polls. Additionally, The Charlotte Observer sponsors a regional ranking, The Sweet 16, which it began in 1984.
The Super 25 ranks NC teams regardless of class or whether they are public or private.
At the top of this week’s rankings are No. 1 Hough and No. 2 Providence Day, a pair of nationally-ranked teams that will meet Friday, at Hough, in the biggest game of the year so far.

That game will feature 36 players with Division I offers.
New to the rankings this week are No. 18 Northside-Jacksonville (1-0), No. 19 Crest (2-0), No. 20 Hunt (2-0) and No. 24 Page (2-0).
