A new Krispy Kreme doughnut will arrive in bakery cases in time for National Coffee Day.

The Original Glazed coffee-flavored doughnut debuts Saturday, Sept. 26, at Krispy Kreme shops nationwide, according to the Charlotte-based chain. But it won’t stick around for long.
The treat, infused with a “smooth, creamy coffee flavor,” will be available for four days only through National Coffee Day on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Organized celebrations of the annual holiday date back to 1983 in Japan and didn’t gain traction in the U.S. until several years later, CBS News reported.
“Coffee and doughnuts are already a perfect pair, so bringing coffee flavor to our iconic Original Glazed® doughnut makes National Coffee Day even sweeter,” Alison Holder, chief brand and product officer at Krispy Kreme, said in a news release.
To mark the occasion, anyone who visits a Krispy Kreme shop on National Coffee Day can also get a free hot or iced coffee with purchase. Free coffees are limited to one per customer.
A 2026 survey conducted on behalf of the National Coffee Association found that “coffee remains America’s favorite beverage — consumed by more adults each day than any other beverage,” even outpacing bottled water.

On average, U.S. adults consume about 454 million cups of coffee each day, according to the report on national coffee trends.
Krispy Kreme’s Original Glazed coffee-flavored doughnut will be available in-shop and online, both individually and by the dozen.
Pricing will vary from store to store. In South End Charlotte, the limited-time treat will cost you $17.99 (plus tax) for a dozen.
The Charlotte-based doughnut maker has debuted multiple limited-time flavors in recent months. Most recently, it returned its Original Glazed blueberry-flavored doughnut to menus for four days only.
