Fights broke out at the Friday night high school football game between Millbrook and Rolesville, prompting the game to be suspended.

Law enforcement cleared the sold-out stadium at Millbrook High in north Raleigh as fans started fighting in the stands, causing the game to be paused.
More fights broke out in the parking lot. At one point, young people were seen squaring up with police officers.
The game, which was heading into overtime tied at 10, was eventually suspended so police could begin clearing the campus.

Some parents told ABC11 that the fights started even before the game began.
“Another fight, just standing behind me, like, broke out in seconds,” one parent told ABC11. “And I don’t know what they’re fighting about or how it happened so quick, but it happened so quick that you’re not even able to move or run or anything, because they’re like swarming you immediately, so it’s like scary. But I want to stay out here to support my son — I don’t want to leave him, and I even heard a cheerleader tell her dad she was scared.”
A heavy law enforcement presence remained at the school past 11 p.m. Raleigh police officers and Wake County deputies responded.
