On the following weekend, Friday, Oct. 23 to Sunday, Oct. 25, Legends will celebrate the grand opening of their new location on 316 West Cabarrus St. with another event featuring dancing, performances and a debut of the space.
“For over 35 years, this has been home,” the business said on Instagram. “It’s where so many of you saw your first drag show. Where you danced until the lights came on. Where friendships started, chosen families were made…and while saying goodbye to this space is bittersweet, it’s finally time to turn the page.”
Legends also teased there is more to come for the nightclub’s next home in Downtown Raleigh’s Warehouse District. In addition to VIP memberships making a return for the entertainment hotspot, special events and more are slated for the business after the grand opening.

The site was zoned for mixed-use developments up to 12 stories tall before the Raleigh City Council increased the zoning to include 40 stories in 2021, The N&O reported.
When CityPlat bought the location, there were no immediate plans to change Legends. This remained true until January 2025 when Trevor Keller, a manager and booking director for the club, confirmed the move to West Cabarrus to The N&O, which is a two-minute drive from the original location.
Raleigh’s Warehouse District has attracted numerous developers creating change in the pocket of Downtown. The city’s contemporary arts museum, CAM Raleigh, recently listed its building, The N&O reported.
