Metallica is set to perform on a “one-of-a-kind stage” in the middle of Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh. Though the concert isn’t until next year, tickets for the band’s M72 tour stop are going on sale soon, according to the venue.
“We have been having so much fun on the road that we’re going to keep M72 rolling! We’ve added 12 additional North American shows in 2027,” Metallica wrote Wednesday, Sept. 16 in a news release.

The concert is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2. Metal bands Limp Bizkit and Avatar are opening the show before Metallica hits the stage.
The setup will be “at the 50-yard line, with the Snake Pit in the center of the stage providing a complete 360° view of the show,” according to the headliner and a promotional graphic.
Fans can see the concert at Carter-Finley Stadium, where the N.C. State University Wolfpack plays its home football games. The venue is located at 4600 Trinity Road in west Raleigh.

Pre-sale tickets for the Metallica show can be purchased starting 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21. To see if you are eligible to buy those seats, visit gopack.evenue.net/events/met.
Then at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, the same website will make tickets available for members of the general public.
“A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to local charities via the band’s All Within My Hands foundation,” which is “dedicated to creating sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services,” entertainment company Live Nation wrote in a Sept. 16 news release.
Parking passes for the Metallica show will be available when tickets go on sale. The venue also has a nearby GoRaleigh bus stop and an area for Uber and Lyft drop-offs.
Metallica, known for its 1991 song “Enter Sandman,” got its start more than 40 years ago. Of the newly announced tour dates, Raleigh is the only stop in North Carolina.
