KIKI, an everyday jewelry business, opened their first Triangle location in Durham at 620 Rigsbee Ave. in Suite B on Saturday, Sept 12.
“KIKI originally started as a hobby just before the pandemic and really began to grow during that time,” Founder Kris Cox said in an email. “What started as a creative outlet quickly became something much bigger as we built a strong community around confidence, self-expression and affordable everyday jewelry.”
Specializing in hypoallergenic, waterproof & tarnish-resistant jewelry, the brand already has two locations in Charlotte and plans to expand to Raleigh, and Atlanta, Georgia. Earlier in the month, the brand posted that it had made over $100,000 in ring sales alone.
“Our new Durham location is an exciting step for us because it brings the KIKI experience into a market where we already have a strong following,” Cox said. “We want the store to feel fun, welcoming and community-driven, not just like a place to shop.”

Although the brand is centered around their earrings, they also carry chains, pendants, rings, anklets, bracelets and a charm bar where customers can build something personalized. Many of the items are sold for prices between $20-$30.
The business also hosts a walk club for their customers. Starting Wednesday, Oct 7th, and every Wednesday after, the KIKI Hot Girls Walk Club will meet for a two-mile walk starting at 6:15 p.m. Triangle participants can meet at the Durham location for a 40-50 minute walk around Downtown Durham, the businesses posted on its Instagram page.
The News & Observer recently reported on another jewelry store opening in Durham. Rowan, ear-piercing studio and jewelry store, opened at the Streets at Southpoint.
