The new Songbird in Raleigh was listed among 13 other restaurants by online reservation site Resy.

Setting sail this summer, Songbird debuted in the newly developed East End Market with a bit of a dual personality, The News & Observer previously reported. Coffee shop by day and cocktail bar by night, Songbird keeps it menu seasonal and North Carolina-centric, helmed by owners Meg Paradise and Charlie Blue Arm.

The mornings feature housemade syrups and coffee drinks, built by a vintage espresso machine, plus one of the region’s most carefully selected tea menus.

In the evenings, Songbird truly sings as one of the Triangle’s most inclusive bars, blending classic drinks and low ABV and spiritless cocktails. In an innovative move, Songbird hands its food menu over to a local chef-in-residence, starting with Longleaf Swine’s Dave Mitchell.

“Drinks like daiquiris with cold-pressed snap pea and martinis with distilled foraged Piedmont pine and Carolina chile oil showcase the sense of place, along with locally made glassware and ceramics,” Resy wrote in its feature.

Songbird is in staggering company on the Resy list, joining 13 other swanky openings in Atlanta, Chicago and New York. The Raleigh spot is the only North Carolina restaurant on the list.

At only 800 square feet, Songbird is already making an outsized impact, drawing fans and regulars with warm service and a cozy vibe. In the Triangle, all-day bars have become one of food and dining’s hottest trends, but even in a crowded market, Songbird stands out.

“We’re open every day, which really means we can be part of a rhythm for everybody in the morning program,” Blue Arm said in an interview earlier this year. “It’s basically really about expanding your hours, making sure you’re using every operational hour you can just, because things are so expensive now. You really kind of have to do so.”
