“We want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us, eaten with us and shown us love along the way,” the team said in a statement on social media. “We’re currently working to secure a new location and hope to serve you again soon.”

Cali Burger opened in 2024, after previous tenant, Arby’s closed down. The Hillsborough Street Arby’s sign was designated as landmark after it was found to be over 20 years old and added historical character to the street. The sign was not deemed a Raleigh historic landmark which resulted in its eventual demolishing, The News & Observer reported in 2022.
The N&O recently reported on other restaurants closing in the Triangle. Café Root Cellar in Pittsboro announced an upcoming closing on Sept. 19 after almost a decade of business, and Flavor Hills in downtown Raleigh closed in August after opening in 2024.
