Carolina Hurricanes right wing Seth Jarvis (24) listens to teammate Nikolaj Ehlers (27) as they field questions about Game 3, during a press briefing on Monday, June 8, 2026 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas,

Seth Jarvis is back — almost.

The Carolina Hurricanes forward, who had offseason shoulder surgery, missed the first four games of the season and has been limited to practicing in a yellow no-contact jersey. That changed Thursday as the winger donned a regular white jersey in the morning skate before the game against the Vancouver Canucks at Lenovo Center.

“It’s probably the biggest step I’ve had so far, being able to take contact now,” Jarvis said. “It’s just a matter of getting comfortable, making sure it’s ready to go. Easing into contact is probably the biggest step right now.

Jarvis led the Canes with 32 goals last season, in 71 games, despite playing with an injured, often painful shoulder. He played in all 19 playoff games in the Canes’ run to the Stanley Cup, finishing with four goals and 11 points.

Canes coach Rod Brind’Amour said Thursday that Jarvis being out of the yellow was a “good sign.”

“There’s a timeline and we’re following that,” he said. “He’s feeling good so we’ll keep it going.”

Brind’Amour did not say when he expected Jarvis back in the lineup. After facing the Canucks, the Canes play a back-to-back on the road at Chicago and Philadelphia over the weekend before returning for a home game Tuesday against the Washington Capitals.

In the Canes’ 2-1-1 start this season, Jarvis has been replaced on Sebastian Aho’s line with wingers Eric Robinson and then Will Carrier. Aho is off to a great start: four goals and seven assists.

Jarvis conceded it has been hard for him to sit and watch.

“A ton,” he said. “I missed going on the road together, and I’m not around as much. It’s been tough to watch, but they’ve been doing good.”

Not being with the team the past two games – at Philadelphia and Montreal – and viewing the game has offered another challenge, Jarvis joked.

“Commercials come on and all of a sudden I’m on TikTok and not focusing as much,” he said
