North Carolina State Auditor Dave Boliek released a 2,603-page report on the town of Cary’s finances and workplace on July 16, following extensive reports about questionable spending under former town manager Sean Stegall.
According to the report, auditors found excessive spending on travel and other non-work related items; tuition paid for a council member’s continuing education at a private university and an “intimidating” work environment under Stegall’s leadership.
