After being vacant for three years, Crunch Fitness will begin construction on the 40,000-square-foot space in August to open in December, Triangle Business Journal first reported. The franchise will be the third of the business’ locations in the Triangle, after opening in Village District at 1900 Cameron St. in 2018 and on 6300 Creedmoor Road in 2019.
“We think Cary is a really underserved market in the high-volume, low-cost fitness model. We think there’s a real need for that in that market,” Ashton Harrell, franchisee, said.
The Cary location will be the flagship location as the largest in the local market, with tiered membership starting at $9.99 a month. On Creedmoor Road, basic membership starts at $24.99 a month and base benefits in Village District start at $39.99 a month.

The gym offers a variety of exercise classes for customers such as group and small group cycle, Zumba and yoga classes. Amenities provided through membership include a sauna, massages and tanning.
The N&O recently reported that Life Time, formerly Life Time Fitness, is opening an athletic country club soon at Alston Town Center in West Cary with membership starting at $249 per month for individuals.
