“Welcoming Läderach’s first North Carolina location is meaningful for The Streets at Southpoint and our community,” Patrick Anderson, senior general manager of the mall, told The News & Observer via email. “There’s something special about being able to introduce our guests to a brand they haven’t been able to experience anywhere else in the state. Läderach’s arrival is another example of how our mix continues to evolve alongside what our community is looking for.”
Southpoint said Läderach is having a “soft opening” Friday, Aug. 21, when charms are available for customers who spend $75 or more. The store officially will launch Saturday, Aug. 21, and the first 200 shoppers on that day “will receive a complimentary chocolate surprise.”

Läderach has more than 250 locations in dozens of countries. An online map shows the new chocolate shop is the brand’s only store in North Carolina.
“Since the birth of our company in 1962, we have been refining fresh chocolate into extraordinary creations — and taking great pleasure in sharing them,” the company wrote on its website. “While we initially did so as a supplier to selected Swiss chocolate shops, today we share our delights with the entire world.”

Southpoint mall, located at 6910 Fayetteville Road, has experienced recent shakeups.
The shopping center in a Facebook post said handbag brand Coach opened. Other additions that have been in the works are Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão, toy store Pop Mart and ear-piercing business Rowan.
Meanwhile, clothing store Loft is no longer at the mall, The N&O previously reported.
