Father-son duo, Jerry and Justin Canada are expanding Legacy Rolls, their breakfast, slider and sweets business, to Apex. It will be located at 700 East Williams St., off of N.C. 55.
“We wanted to bring a sense of legacy and family back to people,” Jerry Canada said to The News & Observer.
The cooked-to-order restaurant, founded in 2024, is centered around a 150-year-old family bread recipe that was mainly reserved for the holiday season.
“While the women were making the turkey or the sweet potatoes, my grandfather and my dad have always made the rolls,” Justin Canada, who learned the recipe five years ago, said. “Now, I’ve made more rolls than anybody else in my family.”

The Triangle location is still under construction, but the business plans to host a soft opening by the end of October. This second site will be an expansion of the brand with a larger staff, revamped menu and expanded hours.
The Spring Lake site, north of Fayetteville, currently has a “close-knit” staff of 10 people with 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. hours. The Apex location will likely be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. with the addition of new and seasonal sliders. Both locations will feature the restaurant’s signature cinnamon rolls with blueberry, cookies ‘n cream and caramel apple flavors.
The father-and-son business partners hope to expand the brand into a private franchise, for now they plan for their Apex opening and a chance “to play with the big boys in the restaurant industry.”
