A man was killed after a large tree fell on a home during a night of severe storms across central North Carolina Tuesday.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded just before 10 p.m. to Bartons Enclave Lane, near Raleigh, to assist the Durham Highway Fire Department and EMS after a tree fell onto a home.
First responders found a man who had been trapped inside the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
Two other people were inside the home when the tree fell, but no one else was injured.

Meanwhile, the night of severe storms brought heavy rain, damaging winds and widespread power outages. Cleanup is now underway.
At one point, about 12,000 Duke Energy customers in Wake County were without power. Some neighborhoods also dealt with flooded streets, downed trees and damage to homes.
The storms forced the evacuation of Red Hat Amphitheater during a Bob Dylan concert because of lightning in the area.
